Context and Goal
Neighbourhood Stories was implemented in the context of Knowledge Cities World Summit 2023 . The goal of this pilot study was to encourage and empower people in Europe and North America to co-create alternative narratives about life in their urban neighbourhoods.
The Method
This project was implemented with the 2CG® content and context method, combining polyphonic storytelling with a tailor-made Telluz scan. The scan was conducted prior to the actual storytelling event to map out how participants currently perceived their urban neighbourhoods; to determine their environment-related values; and to find out what their ideal neighbourhood should look like. The actual design of the intervention was based on the scan results. Co-creating polyphonic stories with the help of inspirational input from the arts should raise awareness of place among participants and encourage them to change perspective. Stakeholders, such as politicians, educational institutions, and municipalities should get new inspiration and ideas for transforming urban neighborhoods into attractive, livable and democratic spaces. Categories measured included togetherness, coherence, wellbeing, leisure, and mobility.
